Annie's Way jelly masks & Supreme Diamond Light Feather mask sheets

If you're looking for a good face mask, I have a recommendation. Nothing I use is expensive but it's effective. That's what matters most. This is not a sponsored post; I write good reviews when the products show good results and vice versa.

I found this Taiwan made mask called Annie's Way (hate the name!). Nothing fancy or glamorous about its name here but the products, work like a miracle.

Annie's Way has gel type masks that come in a jar and face mask sheets. I'm using both types. The Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid Jelly mask is wonderful! Instant brightening effect and skin stay soft and supple throughout the night. The trick here is not to wash off the mask but towel it off. Not a good idea to tissue it off because the leftover mask residue is really sticky. So, use a damp towel instead. I also bought the new Charcoal black jelly mask, which is more for oily skin, to draw out impurities from the skin.

 

The other type of mask that I'm using is the Annie's Way Supreme Diamond Light Feather mask sheet. It claims to prevent wrinkles, whitens, tones and moisturises skin in 1 easy step. An easy alternative for me when I need something quick to perk up my skin. The mask sheet is so thin (it looks almost transparent on my face) and its essence doesn't dry out as fast as other typical mask sheets in the market. The effect: my skin is well moisturised after each usage although the brightening effect is not as good as the Arbutin Jelly mask.

Currently Annie's Way is available in Malaysia. You can get it at any MaskSlim outlets. Not available in Singapore yet, I've checked. The good news is Mask Slim is also available online.

They're having good promos now. Jelly mask is selling for RM76.50 per 250ml jar at MaskSlim online store. If you shop at their outlets, the jelly masks cost RM85 (normal price) but it comes with FOC 3 pieces of mask sheet that cost RM7 each. Jelly masks are also available in trial/travel packs costing RM8 per 25ml pack. The Supreme Diamond Light Feather mask is selling for RM9 per piece. Mothercare Malaysia is having membership recruitment drive from 1st October till 31st October 2011. Just spend RM400 to become a Mothercare VIP card member instantly (Usual: Spend RM800 in 3 months to be a member). 

In addition to that, they are having apparel sales promotion of buy 1, get 30% off and buy 3, get 40% off. Spend a minimum of RM50 and you'll get to buy selected Early Learning Centre (ELC) toys at 50% discounts. For those who are expecting first newborn, you might want to take a look at Tommee Tippee electronic steam sterilizer kit (which includes 4 baby bottles, a bottle brush and a bottle tong) now selling at RM299.90 (Usual price: RM429.90). Not the cheapest sterilizer available, but it's a good buy since it comes with all the bottles. Don't forget to buy extra sachets of citric acid for descaling (Mothercare is selling it for RM3 per sachet -  and they get snap up pretty quickly because stocks are limited). Personal recommendation: Buy it at Babyland SS2 - RM15 for 10 sachets.

I found my Bandung in Subang Jaya

While window shopping in Empire Mall today, I stumbled across a very good deal for babies and children clothes at the F.O.S outlet. Being a stingy yet brand conscious bitch, the labels of Baby Gap, Old Navy and Nike caught my eyes. It cost RM13 per piece or buy 2 at the price of RM21. That is dirt cheap for brands like those! Even a bodysuit from Pumpkin Patch cost RM43.

Wasting not a second more, I ransacked the whole pile of clothes looking for the right size and colour. I ended up buying 4 pieces... with the sales person giving me that sarcastic look that says, "Is that all? You sure looked like you're going to buy 40 pieces!" Lol. Sorry missy. My money, my say.

ATTN: All Shopaholics & Credit Cards Addicts!

If there's one good reason (or excuse) for you to use credit cards, it should be the discounts that your plastics can get you. And I mean real mega discounts, i.e. 50% off; not some 10% discount offers like those you've seen in Malaysia.

Since Dear Hubby is out of town today, I thought of doing some grocery shopping to stock up food items for that 2 months I'm away and have an early dinner at my favourite Sushi Mori. I went in, took a seat & saw it: Kartu Bank Mega diskon 30%. Here I am, with Rp2 million in my handbag but no discount for me. The bill came up to almost Rp250k. I paid the bill with a heavy heart knowing that I could've gotten 30% off if I have Bank Mega's credit card. Then on the way home, I asked Pak Sopir (means chauffeur in Indonesian) to drop me off at Haagen Dazs.

Me: "Satu (one) pint strawberry & satu pint chocolate chips, please."

Sales person: "Maaf, ibu. Ada kartu Bank Mandiri?" (Excuse me, ma'am. Do you own any credit cards by Bank Mandiri?)

Me: "Enggak" (No, I don't)

Sales person: "Kalau ibu ada kartunya, bisa dapat satu pint gratis. Jadi ibu hanya perlu bayar untuk satu pint aja." (We have 'buy one, get one pint free' for Bank Mandiri credit card holders.)

Me: *speechless*

I ended up joining their membership which entitles me to a discount of 25% on the spot. Well, it's better than nothing, right?

Being cash-rich in Jakarta makes you cry because you know those people sitting next table is getting 50% off the bill and you're idiotically paying full price... for using cash! Time to get Dear Hubby to apply one (or maybe a few more with different banks). *GRIN*
